Matalan’s Take On Summer Pastels

Our Matalan is tucked away on the outskirts of Brighton, one quick ride and you can be transported to this one stop destination and sorted for the summer. They have a wonderful take on the ice-cream pastels that have taken this season by storm and there is an array of choice and style at budget prices.

I know it seems that we stylist obsess constantly about the weather but it does have a great bearing on shopping enthusiasm and many a clothing dilemma. Personally the thought of hauling round the shops in the howling wind and rain is a total turn off, so a door to door fast fashion fix certainly floats my boat.

I fell in love with the green lace dress £28 featured at the top of my blog. It has an easy wearability and simple chic, fabulous for an evening out, ping factor hits 10/10.

When looking at your wardrobe for any season, it makes sense to have a variety of styles of tops to each pair of bottoms so you have options for every occasion that crops up. This yellow lace T shirt £16 is adorable and can be dressed up with a pencil skirt or worn as below with a pair of jeans and jacket. A couple of soft drape T shirts at £8 will pay for themselves several times over. The lilac jeans are £16 and come in a variety of colours. Ping factor applies here, I would rate them 8/10. You can easily tuck the hem up for different looks and they have a tummy friendly mid-rise, thank god!

The gingham crops are a snip at £10, are a great cut and lend a quintessentially fresh english summer vibe. The photo below gives a clearer idea of the print. Finally the cool mint blouse £!4 adds a sophisticated fashion forward spin. Pair with a mint green or nude vest and tuxedo jacket and you’re good to go!
