Victoria Beckham chic and South of France glamour

We can all get hung up on the desire for new season’s togs but we can’t all rush out, credit card in hand, times are hard. I have been rediscovering some well loved favourites from previous years and simply updated them to ring the changes and keep everything looking fresh and up to date.

Obviously I refer to seasonal classics that have stood the test of time. The following pieces are my one stop guide to keeping budget down, keeping style stakes high, not to mention space smart wardrobe-wise.

1) A great well fitting jacket in a neutral colour, boy does it pull a look together.

2) A variety of vests/ tops in pastels and neons to bring some well needed colour and variety. These can be really inexpensive, that said, watch out for bargains at Whistles and treat yourself to a bit of luxury. Cop that drape on the T shirt below.. its got cashmere in it you know. Centuries old that one.

3) A well fitting pair of white/ blue jeans that really suit your shape can definitely add inches in the right direction elongating the old pins. Ms Beckham, knows a trick or two, being quite the doyenne of chic in the fashion world and she loves her flares. These Zara white jeans were inspired by Sarah Jessica Parker in the last Sex and the City film, hence they were purchased several summers back. I just adore the cut and when worn with a shrunken jacket makes me look and feel 10 feet tall…… Which is no bad thing when you are a very average 5ft 5.

4) A cashmere knit,in a colour palette that will compliment the vests/T shirt/ tops soft tailoring always adds a more casual and gentle tone adding a cosy alternative to the jacket.

A fringed kimono adds a hippy festival vibe that covers arms keeps you cool and modern  whilst offering a relaxed style alternative on a sultry hot day/night.

A scarf and necklace of the moment will give an updated splash of polish and finish the look off. A navy belt adds an extra dimension without taking over and just through in a statement bag for day and a satchel for night time jaunts. Et Voila!  A capsule wardrobe that will take you anywhere from Cannes to London for any summer mini break.Which is your favourite look and which destination are you heading for this summer?
