Welcome home Jigsaw Menswear,You’ve Been Sorely Missed

Firstly apologies for the late post. As my regulars know, I guest blog for Vintage Brighton. My copy was due for May’s deadline and I don’t do “last minute” so that’s why I’m all behind. While I write this, I am mindful of my fellow bloggers who blog prolifically everyday, which makes my excuse seem pitifully lame. So, to my blogging cohorts, may I say this: I never fail to be bowled over with your enthusiasm and passion for the written word and the need to jolly well tell us how it is. I salute you all! To my readers I say…you can find my favourite bloggers on the blog roll at the left of each blog….Now to the business in hand.

We based the collection around most men’s favourite wardrobe pieces.” These words are from the creative director Frances Walker who has resurrected Jigsaw menswear and breathed new life into shopping for mens attire. Frances has the right credentials to be awarded this challenge as she worked for Nicole Farhi for 22 years and knows her sartorial onions.  It’s no coincident that,Clean lines, minimalism, stylish, well considered, grown up and tasteful are just some of the adjectives that sum up what you can expect from this well revered retailer.

It is widely believed that the ladies are at the helm when it comes to shopping new togs for our menfolk and to a certain extent extent it is true. However here in Brighton, we have an extremely switched on community( they know who they are) who know exactly what they are doing when it comes to men’s attire. so double reason to bring Jigsaw Menswear back to our sunny shores. Cries of dismay from all corners went out as Jigsaw Menswear Brighton shut it doors some years back. The lament of those who truly knew what they had lost, and who rightly envisaged the void left on the High Street, has never ceased. But now it is over! Jigsaw Menswear is back with a vengeance!

Come on girls, we know damned well we are overly well catered for on every level, but ‘go to” destinations for men are somewhat limited by comparison. It’s about time Reiss got a run for their money and let’s be honest, complacency in the market place is never a good thing, we all thrive on some healthy competition it’s what makes us strive to be better at what we do! So to Jigsaw Menswear I say this, Welcome home, it’s been too long!….. I’m only sorry that the nearest stockist to us is Guilford…ho hum ;-(
